The York Region Alliance of African Canadian Communities (YRAACC) will be hosting its first Black History Month Event on Feb 17th at Thornlea Secondary School. The theme of the event is Celebrating the Success of Our Black Families in York Region. Please see flyer below for more details.
Today, at 1 p.m, Guardian Angels with the support of our EcoTeam will be enjoying our walk around the neighbourhood for Winter Walk Wednesday! Classes will be discussing the importance of reducing our carbon footprint by walking to school every day when possible.
On Thurs. Feb. 22nd we welcome Hoza! performing for grades 1-8 in the gym at 1:00 PM. The performance Sound the Drums-Stories of Truth looks at the systemic inequality of indigenous peoples in both South Africa and Canada. The presentation is an exploration of justice and a call to action through music, story telling, and dance.Parents are welcome to attend.
Thank you for bringing in a loonie or toonie to help support the Heart and Stroke foundation on Taebo Thursday February 15th! Students will participate in a healthy exercise routine in the gym at designated times. Thanks for your support in insuring our students stay healthy and active!
Hot Lunch orders are cancelled when buses are cancelled due to inclement weather and poor road conditions. Our lunch providers will reimburse families, but it is very important that lunches are provided from home on those days.
